Subject Overview: The unit aims to develop your skills as a project manager who is able to take an active leadership role in achieving these outcomes. Emphasis is on principles of management, project relationships, communication and risk management. Topical case studies are used to introduce key principles and opportunities are provided for you to apply these to your own work place.
Objectives: On completion, candidates should have
  • An advanced knowledge of the theoretical and practical principles of the project management function
  • Knowledge of the whole process of project procurement
  • A sound attitude towards undertaking life long learning
Assessment:
  • Two hour end of semester examination (50%)
  • One written assignment of up to 2500 words (50%)
