Subject Overview: This subject explores the role of managers in leading change processes in the transformation of universities. It critically explores contemporary issues affecting universities in Australia and worldwide and the strategies and stances that might be adopted by managers.
Objectives:
  • Describe and analyse contemporary issues and priorities in Australian higher education.
  • Develop strategies for responding to complex areas for change and transformation in universities.
  • Develop processes for quality assurance in the context of new norms and values.




Assessment: A report to senior management analysing the possibilities for change management in relation to a current or emerging issue in higher education

OR

the preparation of a research proposal on a a current or emerging issue in higher education (4, 000 words) 100 per cent. Due date final week of semester
