Subject Overview:

This subject will examine the strategies of early years curriculum (P-2) in primary schools covering the educational priorities, goals, documentation and assessment for effective learning. The conceptual and methodological bases of teaching strategies such as inquiry and concept learning and cooperative learning will be addressed. Students will explore teaching techniques, resources and skills, including communication skills such as questioning and behaviour management and classroom discipline from a developmental perspective, that enhance children's willingness and ability to learn successfully. This subject will develop linkages with Teaching and Professional Practice 2B.
