Subject Overview:

This subject was formerly called Explorations (Landscape Studio 1).

This subject introduces fundamental approaches for thinking about and exploration of landscape architecture. This studio explores ideas of presentation, design processes, and key theoretical concepts relating to contemporary landscape architectural design.

Objectives:

Students will be expected:

  • to develop a range of techniques for exploring sites and generating design outcomes;
  • to develop representational skills;
  • to develop an understanding of landscape architecture as a culture and material space.

Assessment: Assessment will be based on two design projects, including a seminar presentation, and the submission of a portfolio; to the equivalent of 5,000 words.
