Subject Overview: This subject offers the opportunity to gain extended work experience in an arts organisation. Placements may be arranged in a diversity of organisations catering for specialised areas of interest in the field of arts management, including not-for-profit arts organisations and government agencies, such as marketing or publicity organisations, legal agencies and other service organisations relevant to the arts industry.
Objectives:
  • be able to demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of a selected arts management experience;
  • be able to demonstrate an ability to work as a team member at the organisational level within the arts community;
  • be able to demonstrate an ability to apply personal initiative as appropriate to solving problems within the Fieldwork situation.
Assessment: Written work totalling 10 000 words 100% (due at the end of the second semester of enrolment).
