Subject Overview: This subject will cover:
  • the application of developmental theory, psychodynamic theory, systems theory and cognitive-behavioural theory to liaison work and parent work;
  • the rationale for selection of particular theoretical orientations for specific situations;
  • different levels of consultation which may be applied in various professional situations; and
  • appropriate methods of communication with other professionals in the network.

Assessment: 20%: Satisfactory attendance and participation at seminars (an attendance record will be kept - a minimum of 80% of seminars must be attended); 80%: One written assessment (5000 words max).
