Dr Kimberly MillerSubject Overview: |
This subject builds on the skills developed in 513-305 Neurology and Neuroscience 1 in the evaluation and management of individuals with neurological neurosurgical conditions. The emphasis of the theoretical component of the subject is evidence based practice on neurological physiotherapy, with exposure to advanced areas of clinical practice including vestibular rehabilitation, task-specific training, and management of individuals with complex presentations. The clinical component of this subject integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical reasoning and practical skills, providing students with opportunities to work within a multidisciplinary team, developing skills in discharge planning, time management, and effective communication with patients, families and other health professionals. |
