Subject Overview: | In the study of thinking generally, and of learning and teaching in particular, reflection and metacognition are two focuses that have assumed prominence over the past two decades. Reflection builds upon a long history of educational enquiry; metacognition, by contrast, is a recent conception. In this subject, the nature of reflection and metacognition, and their role and importance for improving the quality of classroom learning and teaching are considered. |
