Ms Elizabeth Freeman| Subject Overview: | This subject explores responses to trauma and grief across the life cycle particularly focusing on children and adolescents. Historical and theoretical frameworks and approaches to understanding and managing grief, bereavement and trauma at the individual and organizational level are presented. The subject examines the effectiveness and appropriateness and potential interventions by schools to support children and young people experiencing grief and/or trauma. The areas of emergency management, suicide prevention and intervention, grief and disability and cross-cultural issues in grieving are also included. |
