Subject Overview: |
Microclimate and the exchange of energy and matter between crops and the aerial and soil environment; water use and water relationships; crop nutrition; phenological development; assimilate relationships and the determination of yield; adaptation to environmental stresses; the modelling of crop and pasture production.
Practical Work: Glasshouse and laboratory exercise will illustrate particular aspects of the lectures and familiarise students with research techniques. |

In addition to a three hour written examination at the completion of the subject, written and practical tests may be given throughout the course. Marks may also be given for assignments and practical work. The timetable and the weighting given to each component of assessment will be published at the beginning of the subject. |
