Assoc Prof Phillip SalisburySubject Overview: | Case studies are used to illustrate the steps involved in taking knowledge from research laboratory or breeding trials and producing and releasing novel crop varieties. This subject will include a small research project in an area chosen by each student. On completion of the subject, students should have a sound and broad understanding of the plant breeding systems. The case studies will allow students to contextualize their understanding of laboratory methods and develop an understanding of real-life exploitation of genetic improvement of crop plants. |
