Mr James WillSubject Overview: | The structure and function of plants and plant tissues, cell physiology, energy transformations, metabolism, photosynthesis, plant nutrition, water and nutrient uptake and transport, whole plant physiology. By the conclusion of this subject the student should be able to demonstrate their understanding of the structure of plant cells and tissues, of the basic processes involved in the growth of plants and of the integration of these processes in the physiology of plant growth. |

Assessment: | A 60 minute examination 20% (due mid-semester), a 90 minute examination 40% (due end of semester) and two laboratory reports each equivalent to 1500 words 20% each (due during semester). |
