Economics and Financial Analysis

Smallholder agriculture; key economic principles;

definitions of income, costs and profit; farm management

economics, including gross margin analysis, partial budgets,

cash flow budgets, development budgets; project appraisal;

Three hour written examination; up to three written assignments (maximum 3,000 words each). The timetable and weighting to be given to each component of assessment will be published at the beginning of the subject.
