Time Commitment: Contact Hours: Regular meetings with the supervisor over two consecutive semesters of enrolment
Total Time Commitment: Total of 10 hours per week.
Prerequisites: Admission to the postgraduate diploma or fourth-year combined honours in Jewish studies. Prospective students should contact the coordinator during the semester preceding that in which they wish to commence, ie. September for students wishing to start in semester one and May for students wishing to commence in semester two.

Subject Overview: A topic in Hebrew language, literature or another appropriate topic in Hebrew/Jewish studies selected in consultation with the supervisor.
Objectives:
  • have acquired a specialist understanding of the subject being studied;
  • have learnt to conduct independent research and to use Hebrew language sources for the purposes of research.
Assessment: A 10 000 word thesis in Hebrew or a 12 000 word thesis in English on an approved topic 100% (due in the second semester of enrolment).
