Subject Overview: | This is an advanced language subject for honours students in Chinese. It will develop studentsÂ’ ability to handle Chinese texts and oral Chinese over a wide range of subject matter such as official documents, academic articles, discussion papers and literary works. Students are expected to develop skills in translation, writing in Chinese and oral presentation. |

Assessment: | Short translation assignment 20% (due mid-semester); short essay 20% (due end of semester);oral presentation 10% (due end of semester); 2 hour final examination 50%(examination period). |
