Subject Overview: | This course builds on the knowledge acquired by students in Chinese 2D or Chinese 2F (previously offered as Chinese 1B) . Students should broaden their listening comprehension and speaking skills and gain confidence and independence in handling written Chinese language materials and in making the transition from textbook material to original Chinese texts. |

Assessment: | Short tests and/or assignments 25% (commencing 2nd week and before the end of semester), an oral test 20% (during the examination period), a listening and comprehension test 20% (during the examination period), a final examination 25% (during the examination period) and continuous class participation 10%. |
