| Subject Overview: | In this subject students will be introduced to the history of screenwriting and the principles of the craft of writing scripts for screen. Students will read and respond to a variety of scripts written for or adapted to screen. Students will also be required to write a short script. |

| Assessment: | Written work equivalent to 4000 words, including exercises and revised pieces of writing for screen (90%) due at the end of the semester; regular attendance and participation in tutorials and workshops (10%). Assessment submitted late without an approved formal extension will be penalised at 2% per day. Students who fail to submit the final assessment within 2-weeks after the final due date without having received a formal extension and special consideration will receive a fail grade for the piece of assessment. |
