Overview:

History and Philosophy of Science is available as a 100 point major and a 75 point minor in the BA.

The major consists of:

Level 1

  • 25 points of any level one Arts subjects including any Arts Foundational Interdisciplinary Subject

The following subjects are recommended but not required:

  • From Plato to Einstein
  • Science, Philosophy & History

Level 2/3

four compulsory subjects:

  • Science and Society
  • Science: Revolutions and Evolutions
  • Science, Reason and Reality
  • HPS capstone subject; and

Two elective subjects from the lists below.

The minor consists of:

  • Any 12.5 point level 1 Arts subject
  • 25 points of core HPS subjects
  • 37.5 points of level 2 or 3 elective subjects
