Overview:

German

Three separate streams are offered in German:

  • Beginners: for students who have very little or no knowledge of German.
  • Intermediate: for students who have undertaken four or five years of secondary school German.
  • Advanced/Post-VCE: for students who have obtained a pass in VCE German, or its equivalent.
Students who commenced their degree before 2007 will need to complete 125 points toward this major in order to complete the major. Students who commenced in 2007 and completed 37.5 points of German at first-year level will usually need to complete 37.5 points each at second and third year levels to complete the major. For the specific major structure you must follow, refer to the handbook produced in the year you commenced your degree, available online at http://www.unimelb.edu.au/HB/.
