German Major

German

Three separate streams are offered in German:

• Beginners: for students who have very little or no knowledge of German.
• Intermediate: for students who have undertaken four or five years of secondary school German.
• Advanced/Post-VCE: for students who have obtained a pass in VCE German, or its equivalent.

Beginners stream- first year

Beginners stream - second year

Students completing a major must complete subjects below.

Beginners stream - third year

Students undertaking a major must complete German Post-Intermediate 3A and German Post-Intermediate 3B and one elective either 126-006 German Post-Inter Cultural Studies or one third year elective (see below).

Intermediate stream - first year

Intermediate stream- second year

Students undertaking a major must complete German Language and Culture 2A and German Language and Culture 2B and one elective either German Cultural Studies 2 or second year elective (see below).

Intermediate stream- third year

Students undertaking a major must complete German Language and Culture 3A and two third year electives, this can include German Cultural Studies 3 and/or third year elective/s (see below).

Post-VCE stream- first year

Post-VCE stream- second year

Students undertaking a major must complete German Language and Culture 2A and German Language and Culture 2B and one elective either German Cultural Studies 2 or one second year elective (see below).

Post-VCE stream - third year

Students undertaking a major must complete German Language and Culture 3A and two third year electives, this can include 126-018 German Cultural Studies 3 and/or third year elective/s (see below).
