Objectives:	Students who complete the postgraduate diploma should: have an understanding of the philosophy and scope of geography as a discipline; have undertaken advanced study in a specialised branch of geography as determined by the student; have acquired expertise in research skills and methods used to assess and analyse physical and/or human geographical processes; have undertaken research in a specialised branch of geography of their choice and submitted a thesis.
