Course Overview:	This course is no longer available to new students. Current students should consult with a Course Adviser for enrolment advice. The Graduate Certificate in Landscape Architecture is designed to prepare students for the Master of Landscape Architecture and caters for students from unrelated disciplines (arts, sciences, etc.) or students whose previous degree, while from a related discipline (e.g. planning, horticulture, fine arts) has not included satisfactory training in design-related subject areas, including theory and history of design, construction and technology, and design communications. Students with no prior study in landscape architecture can qualify for professional accreditation by taking the equivalent of five semesters of full-time study. This is done by taking the 50 point (1 semester full-time, 1 year part-time) Graduate Certificate in Landscape Architecture followed by the 200 point Master of Landscape Architecture. The Graduate Certificate may also be taken by those who wish to pursue an interest in landscape architecture but do not intend to pursue the Masters of Landscape Architecture. It may also be taken by students with an interest in pursuing further postgraduate study in Landscape Architecture but who lack the necessary background skills and knowledge. Individual study programs are designed by the course coordinator according to the applicants experience, qualifications and intention.
Objectives:	The course aims to: provide the student with a basis for further study in landscape architecture; contribute to the profession of related disciplines, including architecture, planning and urban design; and teach landscape architecture as an intellectual and professional endeavour, embodying a commitment to the improvement and well-being of human society and the natural environment.
Course Structure & Available Subjects:	Candidates are required to complete 50 points of study from the following. Applicants who intend to study full-time and who wish to proceed into the 200-point Master of Landscape Architecture in semester 2 will normally need to take the summer subject 705-805 Landscape Design Skills.

Entry Requirements:	Applicants are required to have a three-year degree, or equivalent, in any discipline.
