Subject Overview: This subject introduces students to key principles of organisational management within the context of the arts industry. In addition to generic management issues, students will be asked to identify and analyse issues unique to the arts industry. Students will be introduced to relevant case studies from a diverse range of arts organisations illustrating the application of strategic planning, communications strategies and board development.
Assessment: Written work totalling 5000 words. A group project and class presentation and documentation equivalent to 1500 words 30% (due mid semester) and a research essay or equivalent to 3500 words 70% (due at end of semester).
