Course Overview:

The Graduate Certificate in Arts Management is designed for graduates who wish to work in a range of arts industry environments. It also provides a pathway for potential applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts Management who do not have relevant background studies in their undergraduate degree.

Objectives:

Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Arts Management should:

  • understand and appreciate the place of the arts within our culture;
  • gain insights into issues faced by the various stakeholders in the arts industry;
  • be able to identify and use a range of communication modes and styles appropriate to specific purposes within the arts industry;
  • be able to recognise potential legal issues regarding intellectual property within specific arts industry contexts;
  • be able to analyse policies and current issues impacting upon the arts industry;
  • be able to locate resources, information and advice available to the arts industry;
  • plan and complete arts projects from first ideas to final product including budgeting, implementing and acquittal.
Course Structure & Available Subjects:
  • three core subjects
  • one elective subject
Total 50 points - subjects are 12.5 points each, unless indicated otherwise.

Entry Requirements:

The Minimum entry requirement is:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in any discipline, or equivalent.

Note: Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Arts Management without an undergraduate degree are not eligible to apply for entry to the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts Management or the Master of Arts Management.
