Subject Overview:

This course builds on the knowledge acquired by students in . Students should broaden their listening comprehension and speaking skills and gain confidence and independence in handling written Chinese language materials and in making the transition from textbook material to original Chinese texts.

Assessment: Short tests and/or assignments 25% (commencing 2nd week and before the end of semester), an oral test 20% (during the examination period), a listening and comprehension test 20% (during the examination period), a final examination 25% (during the examination period) and continuous class participation 10%.

Breadth Options: This subject is a level 2 or level 3 subject and is not available to new generation degree students as a breadth option in 2008.
This subject or an equivalent will be available as breadth in the future.
Breadth subjects are currently being developed and these existing subject details can be used as guide to the type of options that might be available.
2009 subjects to be offered as breadth will be finalised before re-enrolment for 2009 starts in early October.

Formerly available as 110-121 Chinese 2A and Standard Chinese 2A and as 110-039 Chinese 2A. Students who have completed 110-121 or 110-039 are ineligible to enrol in this subject. Available at 2nd year for students who begin at Chinese 2E and 3rd year for students who begin at Chinese 1A.
