Prerequisites: Students undertaking the 150 or 200 point Masters program must have completed at least 50 points of subjects at the University of Melbourne and received an average of at least 75% for those subjects. Students must have completed or be concurrently enrolled in the subject 121-503 Research Methods and Design. All Students must seek the permission of the course co-ordinator before enrolling in this subject.

Subject Overview:

Students must undertake a piece of research in Development Studies approved by the course co-ordinator. Research will incorporate an analysis of development theory and practice. On completing the subject students submit a minor thesis on their chosen research topic.

Assessment: A thesis proposal and presentation, and a minor thesis of 16 000 words.
