Subject Overview:

This subject provides students with an opportunity to read and listen to various types of authentic Japanese materials with some modification and learn to communicate on a wide range of topics. Students will learn100 kanji (Chinese characters) and will be introduced to various aspects of Japanese culture. Computer laboratory instruction will support the curriculum.

Assessment: Oral test (week 12) 15%, oral presentation 5% (weeks 4 to 8), a listening test 10% (week 11), written assignments 20% (during semester) and final examination 50% (examination period).

This subject is available at level one for students who are completing the advanced stream of Japanese. It is only available at level two for students completing the post-VCE stream of Japanese, and level three for beginners stream Japanese student.
