Course Overview:

The graduate certificate provides students with a general understanding of key concepts and issues in philosophy. Students undertaking this short and concentrated program of study will develop valuable skills of analysis and critique. The certificate is an entry point to an articulated structure of higher degree study. Note that among the subjects available to certificate students are four intensive summer subjects, offered in pairs in alternating years, which have been specially designed around the VCE Philosophy course and may therefore be of interest to actual and potential secondary teachers. Any one or more of these subjects may be however, taken by any student enrolled in the certificate. Students are advised to contact the department for more information.
