Course Overview:

The graduate certificate provides students with a general understanding of key concepts and issues in cross-cultural communication. Students undertaking this short and concentrated program of study will develop valuable skills of analysis and critique. The certificate is an entry point to an articulated structure of higher degree study and may qualify graduates for entry to the professional masters by coursework.

Objectives:

Students who complete the graduate certificate should:

  • develop a broad understanding of the socio-cultural components of language and their impact on communication;
  • acquire a conceptual framework for describing and analysing cross-cultural communicative acts.

  • an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
