Subject Overview:

This subject provides those students wishing to progress to a higher research degree the opportunity to conduct individual research in either the development of theory and methods or the application of business analytics techniques. This subject is an alternative to the subject Industry Practicum and a student choosing this subject is disallowed from Industry Practicum.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of Individual Research Project students should be able to:

  • Produce original individual work in an appropriate format which demonstrates research skills in the application or development of business analytic techniques;
  • Present their research professionally in a way that demonstrates the impact of their research.
Assessment:

7,000 word (or equivalent) Research Report for projects being undertaken by individuals (hurdle requirement) Final week of the subject 70%

Individual Oral Presentation (30 minutes) Final week of the subject 30%
