Prerequisites:

This subject is available to students who have completed 100 points of study within a Melbourne School of Design coursework masters (with the exception of Master of Architecture students)

Students are responsible for identifying a suitable work placement prior to enrolment. Send the details, including written approval from their course coordinator to abp-internship@unimelb.edu.au at least two weeks before the start of semester.

Before enrolment students are required to complete all the steps found at http://msd.unimelb.edu.au/internship-opportunities .This should be completed at least 2 weeks before the start of semester.

Subject Overview:

A vocational placement accompanied by academic objectives that is supervised by a Melbourne School of Design staff member. The vocational placement will enable the student to gain applied experience and reflect on the experience, both theoretically and in an applied manner.

This subject is available to students who have completed at least 100 points of study within a Melbourne School of Design coursework masters (with the exception of Master of Architecture students).

Learning Outcomes:

Enable student to gain practical experience and develop theoretical expertise by undertaking a project (topic ageed upon by the placement supervisor and host organisation) in a real life setting.

Assessment:

One essay equivalent to 5000 words (100%), due two weeks after completion of the placement.
