This subject is designed for students to further develop their fluency skills in spoken Australian English. Practical application of IPA is used to assist further improvement in the articulation of specific speech sounds for Australian English. Students will extend skills in how to use the voice effectively including intonation, stress, and rhythm patterns in conversation, group discussion and presentation settings

Clear speech and articulation
Fluency in spoken Australian English
Increased spoken vocabulary
Understanding grammatical syntax in conversation, group discussion, and presentation settings
Listening skills
Self confidence in spoken Australian English

Weekly preparation of voice and speech exercises, individual and ensemble practice and active contribution to all classes, workshops and presentation preparation as directed. Assessed throughout the semester. 50%.

Storytelling Assessment: 5% WEEK 3

Describing an Art Work Assessment: 10% WEEK 5

Debate Assessment: 10% WEEK 7

Job Interview Assessment: 15% WEEK 12

Methodology paper (400words) 10% due WEEK 12.

100% punctual and full attendance is expected during the intensive. Less than 80% attendance will result in a fail. Attendance is a hurdle requirement.
