Subject Overview:

Using clinical cases to illustrate principles, this subject examines the structure, function and potenor dysfunction of the digestive system of the major domestic animal species. As students develop an understanding of the mechanisms of disease of this system, they will develop skills in the clinical evaluation of it and in the interpretation of relevant diagnostic procedures.

Learning Outcomes:

This subject aims to equip students with a sound understanding of the mammalian digestive system in health and disease, and to provide them with the skills necessary to undertake clinical investigation of this system.

Assessment:
  • One 2-hour end-of-semester examination (70%)
  • One 1-hour test held during semester (20%)
  • Computer-based assessment of case study exercises (10%)
