Overview:

The Environmental Geographies, Politics and Cultures Honours specialisation addresses the relationship between human activities and the natural and built environment, and humanity’s reliance on the earth’s natural resources.

Learning Outcomes:

• To provide students with the methods needed to carry out an effective research program
• To ensure students understand what is required to review critically a scholarly body of literature in geography or environmental studies
• To ensure students gain the skills needed to communicate their research intentions and results
• To ensure students gain some grounding in the history, philosophy or scope of the discipline of geography and in the principles of environmental impact assessment

Structure & Available Subjects:

The program is comprised of a 75 point research subject (a combination of 2 subjects worth 25 + 50 points; or 2 x 37.5 points), a core coursework subject (GEOG40003 - Advancing Geography and Environmental Studies) and a 12.5 point selective coursework subject.
