Subject Overview:

The student will conduct research under appropriate academic supervision and submit the work in the form of a thesis of at least 6,000 but no more than 10,000 words by 30 October in the final year of enrolment in the subject.

Objectives:

To help students prepare a written report on the applied research project they proposed in the first-year Research Proposal subject. To ensure students receive a thorough grounding in research design and report writing to a publishable standard. To develop an increased understanding of the application and interpretation of statistical procedures. To facilitate understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice and outcome research.

Assessment:

A thesis of 6,000 - 10,000 words will be submitted for evaluation to two examiners, both of whom might be internal to the University, or one of whom might be external to the University. The thesis will be marked according to the standard university grading system.
