Subject Overview:

This subject builds on skills acquired in Swedish Language and Culture 1A and 1B. It comprises reading, writing, vocabulary and grammatical structure, as well as listening and speaking making use of a variety of texts, activities and communicative situations. Thereby, students will gain an increased understanding of Swedish in an extended variety of contexts. Students will expand their vocabulary to a moderate level of complexity in different modes of expression.

Objectives:
  • have developed skills to communicate in spoken and written Swedish with increasing fluency and accuracy.
Assessment:

Aural, oral and written assessment totalling 1,000 words 25% (during semester). a 1-hour mid-semester test 25% (during semester) and a 2-hour written examination 50% (in the examination period).

This subject has the following hurdle requirements:

  • Regular participation in tutorials is required with a minimum of 75% attendance.
  • All pieces of written work must be submitted to pass this subject.

Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at 10% per day and in-class tasks missed without approval will not be marked.
