History and Philosophy of Science

An arts major in history and philosophy of science usually consists of eight 12.5 point subjects, totaling 100 points. It comprises:

  • two first-year subjects in history and philosophy of science (25 points) and
  • six second/third-year subjects in history and philosophy of science (totalling 75 points).
Students who commenced their degree before 2007 will need to complete 112.5 points toward this major in order to complete the major. BA students may take up to three philosophy subjects towards their major in history and philosophy of science. Subjects from the list below will be approved automatically. Other subjects may be approved by the Head of School if the content is deemed appropriate.
