Prerequisites:

This subject is only available to students completing the final year of a major in Jewish Studies, or those in the Graduate Diploma in Arts (Jewish Studies).Completion of 37.5 points of level 2 subjects in history and enrolment in the Bachelor of Arts or Graduate Diploma in Arts. Bachelor of Arts students should endeavour to take the capstone in their final semester of study after completion of 25 points at third year.

Recommended Background Knowledge:

Completion of Level 1 and Level 2 requirements for the major in Jewish Studies.

Non Allowed Subjects:

109-455 or 183-455 Special Study Research Project (Hebrew).

Subject Overview:	This subject gives students majoring in Jewish Studies the opportunity to extend and deepen their knowledge of the topic, sharpen their critical faculties in relation to source material and secondary literature, and acquire substantial skills in planning and executing a research project. It is only available to students taking the Jewish Studies major.
Objectives:	have broadened their knowledge of the relevant subject. have further developed research skills.
Assessment:	A research essay of 4000 words in Hebrew or English on a prescribed topic in consultation with the co-ordinator 100% (due at the end of semester).
