Time Commitment: Contact Hours: Four hours per day intensive language course in Spain for four weeks and compulsory cultural excursions
Total Time Commitment: Total of 8.5 hours per week.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Spanish 1 and approval of the subject coordinator.

Subject Overview: The Spanish study abroad program is run under the auspices of the Prince of Asturias program. Students undertake an intensive four-week language and cultural immersion program in Spain under agreements negotiated with the Complutense University of Madrid. Students are responsible for their own travel and accommodation.
Objectives:
  • have improved their accent, fluency, vocabulary and cultural knowledge of Spain with first hand experience.
Assessment: Course and assessment taught by the Universidad Complutense, Madrid. Oral/aural work totalling 1500 words 35%, tests, quizzes, translations, grammar exercises totalling 3500 words 65% (due throughout the 4 weeks)
