Course Overview:

The postgraduate program in creative writing is offered by the School of Culture and Communication, a School recognised nationally as an innovative and highly professional milieu for writers and creative artists. Staff are experienced and widely published writers in their own fields, committed to both a creative practice and academic excellence in an inspiring environment for students. The course provides a pathway to higher degree research for students who have not completed a four year BA (Honours) with a research component in creative writing. Elective subjects and supervision are available in fiction, poetry, poetics, nonfiction, screenwriting, forms of autobiography, and theatre writing. Our students participate in creative writing seminars, theatre events, School research seminars and public readings as part of a richly networked community aiming to bring students' work to the highest professional standards.
