Subject Overview:

The project requires the preparation and realisation of:

  • a concert or performance of a major dance performance work or works of approximately 30 minutes duration;
  • a 10,000 word research paper.

This project may be modified for candidates creating other types of performance events or using different media after consultation with and approval by the Course Coordinator and Postgraduate Committee.

Assessment: Performance work(s) (60%); research paper (40%).Assessment will be by two (2) examiners, at least one of whom will be external. One of the assessors will have academic experience. The Chairperson of Examiners can request a candidate attend a Viva Voce before the Assessment Committee. The research paper must be submitted within 6 weeks of completion of the performance.
