Subject Overview:

This subject uses authentic written and audio-visual texts to expand students' ability to understand, speak and write German.

Assessment: A 2-hour examination 40% (during examinations period), two listening tests equivalent to 500 words 10% (mid and end of semester), written work equivalent to 1000 words 30% (during semester), a 5-minute oral presentation equivalent to 250 words 10% (during semester) and vocabulary tests equivalent to 250 words 10% (during semester).

Breadth Options: This subject is a level 2 or level 3 subject and is not available to new generation degree students as a breadth option in 2008.

Notes:

This subject is only available at first year level for students commencing the intermediate language stream. Students enrolled in the beginners stream should enrol at second year level. Students who have completed 126-007 Intermediate German B may not enrol in this subject.
